Andy is the co-founder and former CEO of SunFarmer, a YC-backed social enterprise focused on bringing solar energy to the developing world. SunFarmer is a profitable, locally-run solar energy company in Kathmandu, Nepal that has launched award-winning products and brought solar to over 2,000 farms, health facilities, and businesses. SunFarmer has installed some of Nepal's largest solar and battery installations, and introduced technical and financial innovations to the market such as low-cost solar-powered irrigation pumps and loans with electricity production guarantees.
Andy spent the last year as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Carbon180, where he researched business opportunities in sustainable real estate. Previously he invested in early-stage startups including Chronosphere, one of the fastest software startups to reach a $1B valuation.
Earlier in Andy’s career, he raised over $200M in debt and equity financing for solar energy projects in the US and Europe, and was involved in over $1B in solar transactions while at SunEdison Solar. He started his career working on sustainability and public health projects as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Stanford, and recently completed an executive education program at Harvard Kennedy School through his appointment as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
